Nobody figured more best than Sassetta majesty St. Francis and also the compassion to the person inherited by his followers and interflow to the nature. An altar which it finished in 1444 for San Francesco’s church in the Borgo of San Sepolkro and four patterns from which are in Louvre, belongs, probably, to the best works of this master. The Luvrsky pattern on which Virgin Mary and the Baby Christ are figured in a surrounding of the playing music angels on the back has the image of the Saint soaring in ecstasy over huge water space it (is not provided). The humane beginning concluded in movement of Franciscans and especially a tune on direct and active empathy, pattern well opens Blissful Ranieri Rasini, which is getting out the poor of prison in Florence, figuring miraculous escape of prisoners by the franciscan Saint helping them as if to mice to creep through a masonry.
One of the most noticeable pupils of Sassetta called usually according to the work – to a triptych of the monastery of Franciscan statutes (Observanza) in Siena – the Master of the triptych Observantsa, is the author of the image of the St. Anthony marked by the same combination of an emaciated flesh and a greatness of spirit which selects Sassetta’s images which is in Louvre. Patterns which, apparently, fall into to more late works of the same master are known under Sano di Pietro’s authorship. Its Predell with scenes of life of St. Jerome, which shows the inventive imagination of the Siena painting which is not lost by it and in the middle of the 15th century belonged to the altar which is nowadays in a meeting of the Picture gallery of Siena; it was finished the same year, as Sassetta’s altar for the Borgo – San Sepolkro. Thanks to this a limit the luvre collection creates complete idea of variety of the Siena painting of the Early Renaissance at the spectator.
